GIS: The Building Case Study

This seminar provides hands-on experience in using a full-featured Geographic Information System, and offers 21 hours of Appraisal Institute continuing education credit. This seminar demonstrates how GIS technology works with a database of building sales that already have assigned geographic identifiers—and those that are not geocoded. Learn how a GIS can be used to select comparable sales by attributes as well as by location. In addition, the Digging Deeper segments demonstrate how one appraiser uses a GPS in the appraisal process.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the third class in the GIS curriculum. The first class is GIS - The Executive Overview, which does not provide a hands-on experience with a full featured GIS. The second class is GIS: The Novice Case Study, which covers general mapping features of a GIS.
